THE MRZ 5th ANNUAL GOLF OUTING
We would like to thank all of those who attended our Foundation’s 5th Annual Golf Outing on May 18th, 2016 at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, NY.
We would also like to thank our many sponsors and donors who supported our Flagship Fundraiser. The day was filled with fun, food and golf and with 78 golfers attending, it was a great success.
We were honored to have two guest speakers. The first was Elizabeth Rowley, who is the new CEO and President of The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. Elizabeth spoke about the importance of supporting charities and the relationship between CFOS and our Foundation. Congratulations to Elizabeth on her new position and thanks again for attending.
The second speaker, Edgar Tello, is a special friend of The MRZ Foundation and has been involved since 2012. Edgar is 23 years old and an AVM survivor. He was diagnosed with a spinal AVM at the age of 10 and briefly spoke about the difficulties he had to overcome. Edgar spoke about the Foundation’s mission to support others through awareness and research. Edgar’s determination to move forward and the successful procedures performed by Dr. John Pile-Spellman, have allowed him to graduate pre-med. He plans to attend medical school and follow in his Doctor’s footsteps. We wish Edgar all the best and thank you again for speaking.
It was a great day and a terrific fundraiser. All profits realized will be gifted to The University of California, San Francisco, Center for Cardiovascular Research with a focus on AVM, Brain Aneurysm and Strokes.
Your support is greatly appreciated by the foundation and those who will benefit from AVM research.
